On July 31, K-water signed the “Agreement for cooperation in new and renewable energy development” with Korea Western Power at the head office in Daejeon. This agreement is aimed at promoting cooperation with Korea Western Power to expand distribution of new and renewable energy. The key contents of the agreement are “cooperation in K-water’s floating photovoltaic system development and securing of finances through joint investment,” “certification for floating photovoltaic system supply,” and “exchange of technologies for renewable energy, such as floating photovoltaic power generation systems.” Through cooperation with Korea Western Power, K-water will increase new and renewable energy distribution and development of potential resources, develop a floating photovoltaic system with the capacity of 550MW by 2022, and thus actively implement the government’s Renewable Energy 3020 policy.
