On February 13, a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Geumhogang River Emergency Water Supply Facility was held at the Gyeongsan Intake Station in Gyeongsangbuk-do. In cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and the related municipalities including the Gyeongsan City Government, K-water has recently completed the facility to supply water from the Geumhogang River to Daegu instead of from the Unmun Dam, which dried due to severe drought. For the construction, the irrigation canal (2.6km) was installed to send the water of the Geumhogang River on the downstream side of the Yeongcheon Dam to the Gosan Water Treatment Plant, and a water supply test was conducted from February 1. Since then, the Geumhogang River Emergency Water Supply Facility has stably supplied 127,000 tons of river water a day to the Gosan Water Treatment Plant.
