On February 4, athlete Kim Do-yeon set a new national record at the 72nd Kagawa Marugame Half International Marathon. Kim reached the finish line in 1 hour 11 minutes and 00 seconds, beating the previous record set by Im Gyeong-hui at the 31st Yomiuri Inuyama Half Marathon in 2009 by 14 seconds. In last July, Kim established a new national record in the women’s 5,000 meters (15 minutes 34.17 seconds) proving herself to be the strongest in the women’s long race. Kim also finished first in 2 hours 31 minutes and 24 seconds at the JoongAng Seoul Marathon held last November.
