K-water obtained an order for “technical service for the establishment of an integrated water resources management system in Rimac River, Peru,” which is the first-ever integrated water management project to be conducted by a Korean public enterprise in Latin America. The project was ordered by the Ministry of Environment (total project expenditure of KRW 5 billion) and aims to solve the water issue in Lima, the capital of Peru. For three years starting this October until 2021, K-water is responsible for reinforcing the competency of local civil officials, the installation of water quality and flow measuring posts, and overseeing the planning, design and supervision of an integrated water resources information center. Also, through execution of public-private win-win cooperation projects with Korean companies, it will fulfill a role as a stepping stone for overseas advancement of domestic water-related businesses.
