On November 2, at the LW Convention Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, the “Citizens’ Hackathon for Water Management Innovation” was held by K-water to collect citizens’ ideas. “Hackathon” is a combination of “hacking” and “marathon” and refers to an innovative debate technique where participants form a team and follow a process from the discovery of an idea to the completion of it, to produce a meaningful outcome of their discussion. From September to October, K-water recruited participating teams to get ideas about "Measures to Promote Innovative Growth Tasks." Among the winning ideas, those with high feasibility will be selected as “Innovation Promotional Tasks” and be reflected in K-water’s water management work. The results of the projects based on these new ideas will be announced via "Danbi Tok Tok," K-water’s online platform for communication with the public.
