K-water takes into account the preservation and restoration of surrounding ecology, and social, cultural and historical uniqueness of the area during conducting its businesses.
K-water is conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) by important business phase prior to the business implementation to ensure the environmental soundness of a business. Environmental Impact Assessment is the process to investigate the environmental impacts caused by a plan, policy, program, or project, and propose mitigative measures to reduce environmental impacts before the decision making.
We are developing and implementing environment-friendly techniques throughout the entire business cycle covering from a plan to a management stage. K-water also monitors environmental impacts that could be generated during and after a project and helps to establish an additional environmental impact reduction plan for the occurrence of any unexpected environmental impacts.
K-water implements various ecology-restoration projects in order to minimize its negative effects on natural environment resulting from its project implementation, and to preserve the habitats for animals & plants.
Local ecology, culture and history surrounding the dam areas are reflected in the construction of spaces for local tourism and economic activities. K-water’s business is contributing to expansion of opportunities for local residents to enjoy leisure and improve the quality of life.
