K-water, together with the Ministry of Environment and Sejong City, is pushing forward with the Smart Water City Creation Project in Sejong City. It is a project designed to build up a smart water city in the Happy City Construction Area (Life Zones 1 to 31) and the existing city center (Jochiwon) by 2020. An integrated control system that manages the quantity and quality of water flowing from water sources to the faucets of households, systematic leakage management system, advanced drainage facilities that automatically discharge polluted tap water, facilities to minimize chlorine odor, water quality meters to provide real-time water quality information will be installed throughout this project. At 5:30 pm on September 18, a ceremony was held in Hansol-dong, Sejong City to form a wider consensus on the project, attended by the Ministry of Environment and Sejong City officials and citizens.
