On July 5, K-water held the “Company-wide Safety Actions Meeting” in preparation for the summer flood season. At the meeting, the 50 dams and weirs (20 multipurpose dams, 14 dams for water supply and 16 weirs) under K-water’s management were inspected extensively in terms of the status of preparation for storm and flood damage in the flood season (Jun. 21 ? Sep. 20) and the operating directions. As of July 5, flood control capacity of 6.1 billion tons has been secured in the 20 multipurpose dams. K-water will respond swiftly to emergency situations, such as when heavy rain or typhoon is forecast, by linking the dam and weir operation and discharging reservoir storage in advance of flood.
